No I've never marked a quilt either. I think it would be too hard to stay on a pattern. I always freehand but I've really only done a meandering stipple stitch or some straight line quilting. I'd like to venture out and try other stitches, but I'm still trying to get the basics down and I'd hate to put all the time and effort into a quilt top, then try a new quilting technique and completely suck at it and screw up the whole quilt! ;)So for now, I'll just stick to what I'm comfortable with! Yours looks great and I can't wait to see it finished!

Thanks Jen! :) The cherries are all free-hand. I've never tried a stencil and I've never marked my quilt top, have you? I've practiced before with a marked practice sandwich and I was so obsessed with being exact that I was not exact and it wasn't fun, ever since then I've stuck with free-hand.
